Biography

Ana Battezzati was born in Palermo neighbourhood, Buenos Aires, on March 3rd, 1957. Her artistic sensitivity became evident early in her childhood, especially as regards music.

She attended piano, flute and singing lessons. As a teenager, she started singing in different choral groups. After finishing high school, she decided to study Music Therapy, and this profession allowed her to put together her vocations for psychology, teaching and music.

As a graduate, she became interested in the world of broadcasting. In the eighties she participated in several radio programmes and also created her own ones. She arrived at the world of tango through its dance, which seduced her forever.

She started singing tangos, waltzes and milongas belonging to the porteño repertoire in different cafes in the city, where she was able to find a particular personal style. Her way of singing tango has been largely praised.

Lately she has been working on her first album.
